  1. The MSGPURG command allows you to automatically purge old messages from the 
  2. system. When you run the command, it will prompt you for a cutoff date, a 
  3. cutoff access level, and will let you choose to delete mail, public messages, 
  4. or both.  
  5.      The cutoff date is the date which defines an "old" message. All
  6. messages posted on or before this date are considered for deletion.
  7.      The cutoff access level is used to screen out messages from the delete
  8. mail scan. Only users with access levels equal to or less than this number
  9. will have their mail considered for deletion.
  10.      Protected public messages are not deleted under any conditions. Public
  11. messages are unprotected by default, but can be protected by using the EDIT 
  12. command from the main menu.  
  13.      The system will warn you before it begins the delete scan. You must
  14. press Y to continue, or N to abort the scan. When completed, the command
  15. will report the number of messages deleted.
